Anytime you are using public Wi-Fi, you must assume someone could access your browser history and passwords. Avoid performing tasks that require logins, such as banking or checking emails, on public Wi-Fi networks to minimize risk.
Check your bank statement every month. While banks are adept at identifying fraud, especially with credit cards, they may not catch all suspicious transactions. Regularly reviewing your statements ensures you remain alert to any discrepancies.
Even Mac users should invest in reliable anti-virus software and check for updates frequently. Set your computer to alert you of updates or manually check on a regular schedule for the best protection against malware and viruses.
Computers that are always connected to the Internet are more vulnerable to cyber threats. Ensure your Wi-Fi is password-protected and disconnect your device from the Internet when it's not in use to improve security.
